The Love Witch Gift Guide
Gifts with ethics, intention, and magic, curated by Gwen Walsh
What do you give a witch?
The Love Witch Gift Guide for the holiday season—
If you’ve arrived here, you likely have a witch as a friend, partner, coworker, or relative. Maybe you find them fascinating, with their collection of crystals, connection to the earthly and spiritual realms, and worship of ancient deities. Perhaps you don’t understand them, and would have no idea where to begin trying to.
Maybe your witch friend is the one who has it all: every crystal, candle, and intentional oil you could ever dream of. Maybe not, but you’d have no idea what they would like anyway. Even if you’re also a witch, you know that every witch’s practice is different, and it can be challenging to know if your recipient would appreciate a heart chakra candle, a statue of Freya, or something else entirely.
What do you give a witch for a gift?
Certainly not an Amazon gift card or a Bath & Body Works box set.
Whether you’re giving as a witch or for a witch, I’ve crafted your complete gift guide, all approved by my Venus in Virgo taste. For both witches and loved ones of witches, this guide will help you give an inspiring, unique, and meaningful gift to your witchy friend or loved one. And if you find something you like along the way, there’s nothing wrong with treating yourself too!
Some, but not all, of these gifts are from brands that I personally support and partner with. As a grad school student, it would mean the world to me if you use the links I provide, so I receive a small commission that will go towards paying my tuition. Thank you for supporting a witch while shopping for a witch!
Do witches want holiday gifts?
As a reminder, many witches celebrate winter sabbats and holidays. Not all witches are religious or spiritual, but many celebrate Christmas (Christian), Yule/Winter Solstice (Germanic/ Wiccan/ Neopagan), Hanukkah (Jewish), Kwanzaa (African-American), Saint Lucy’s Day (Christian/pagan), and more. While you never need an occasion to give a meaningful gift, there is likely a holiday during the winter season that your beloved witch celebrates!
I’ve listed some common types of witches that may help you determine which gifts fit your witch. As all witches (and people) are multidimensional, feel free to go by my categories, or choose based on what you think your witch would appreciate.
Above all, most witches appreciate intention. So if you give them not just a candle, but a non-toxic, Mississippi-made candle called Coven, the intention within your gift makes it witch-worthy. If you gift them an experience, like a tarot reading from a professional, values-based witch (such as myself 😉), the wisdom they gain will last them a lifetime (instead of another “thing” that ends up in the back of their closet).
I made this gift guide because, as a witch, an environmentalist, and a picky Virgo sun and Venus, I’m tired of seeing last-minute, meaningless gifts and empty gestures. If we’re going to give a gift, let’s make it an environmentally-friendly, emotionally-intentional, and energetically-impactful gift. No more polyester, virgin plastic, or catchall Amazon gift card gifts. We can do so much better than that, right?
With The Love Witch Gift Guide, you’ll be the envy of all Secret Santa parties, Yankee swaps, and holiday get-togethers. Gifts in this guide range from $12 to over $300, so you can adjust based on your budget (or your agreed-upon white elephant spend limit).
How do I use The Love Witch Gift Guide?
Of course, you can just peruse the entire guide and see what strikes you. If you want to be more efficient with it, this Virgo’s got you covered. Take the complimentary LWGG Personality Quiz to determine which category to focus your shopping in. If you’re shopping for yourself, just answer the questions as you normally would. If you’re shopping for someone else, answer the questions as you think they would. Count up each of your answers, see which letter you chose most, et voilà, you have your shopping category!
I hope you’ll enjoy this gift guide as much as I enjoyed making it. If you purchase something (for a friend or yourself) from the guide, feel free to DM me on Instagram and let me know; I’d love to hear what you chose!
Cottage Witch
(Cozy, Earthy, Sustainable)
Blackjack Wax Co candle: Blackjack is a small candle business owned by a husband & wife team in Meridian Mississippi. Made with non-toxic, paraffin-free soy wax and lead-free cotton wicks, these candles are my go-tos. My favorites are Coven, Hearth, and Rickhouse.
Hauswitch candles: Hauswitch’s collaboration with Soy Much Brighter is another go-to candle for me. Paraffin candles are carcinogenic and can blacken the walls of your witch’s house or apartment. Instead, get them one of these soy-wax, wooden-wick candles. My favorite is The Furies.
Cultiver Freya Linen throw: if your witch worships Freya, they’ll love the nod to their goddess in this cozy, pure linen throw blanket.
Girlfriend Collective: you could get your witch literally anything from this environmentally-friendly, ethical activewear company, but I especially love the comfy Float run short and Juliet Strappy bra.
Being in the World: An Environmental Reader for Writers: if you’re looking for a smaller gift for your witch, this book is a perfect companion for cozy days with their favorite tea. Buying from a small book seller instead of Amazon is a notion your witch will also appreciate.
Meeting The Morrigan class: Learn about the Irish goddess of sovereignty, rulership, and the land (amongst other things) in this self-paced class. Your witch can learn and do the included meditation from the comfort of their own home. Purchase a gift card from my online shop for your witch to redeem.
Forever reading: purchase a gift card from my online shop, and your beloved witch can ask any question(s) they have, and receive a pre-recorded reading to watch (and re-watch) from the comfort of their own cottage (or whatever style of home they have). A forever reading is truly the gift that keeps on giving.
City Witch
(Chic, Sophisticated, Refined)
Oslo Coffee Freya: for the heathen witch who’s also a coffee connoisseur, this dark roast is a perfect compliment to their spiritual practice and daily regimen. Oslo also has a Thor house blend and an espresso blend named for the Allfather, if your witch prefers those!
The Bruja’s Tomb Cleanse & Protect spray: we city witches need to be extra vigilant about cleansing and energetically protecting ourselves. Made by a fellow witch and city Bruja, Alexa Branco of the Bruja’s Tomb, these sprays come in sleek amber glass bottles and, unlike candles or incense, won’t set off the smoke alarms in your apartment.
Haus of Hoodoo oils: these oils are perfect for an apartment-dwelling witch, as they’re packed with power but won’t set off sensitive smoke alarms, like candles and incense might. My favorites are Magnetism, Road Opener, Desire, and Crown of Success.
Mejuri diamond ring: made from responsibly-sourced diamonds and recycled gold, this ring is simple, sophisticated, and perfect for elevated everyday wear. I purchased one on a cross-country road trip with my best friend, and it’s a beautiful tangible reminder of those memories.
Spirituality class bundle: give your city witch a gift that doesn’t take up space in their apartment–my Spirituality bundle provides classes on tarot, magic & spellcasting, and Paganism 101, all at one’s own pace. Purchase your witch a gift card from my shop to redeem.
Love Witch
(Romantic, Sensual, Creative)
Spectrum Boutique: by far my favorite online boutique (which is saying a lot as a sex educator), Spectrum has a vast selection of beautiful vibrators, like the Le Wand bullet. If you aren’t close enough with your witch friend to buy them sex toys, Spectrum has a collection of some of my favorite books (such as Sister Outsider, Pleasure Activism, and Female Ejaculation & The G Spot). Instead of giving to Amazon, support a woman-owned business (and me!) by purchasing from Spectrum.
Chakrubs: If you want to give your witch an elite-level gift combining sensuality, magic, and beauty, give them a Chakrub. For witches who work love magic and sex magic, I would recommend the rose quartz (The Heart), clear quartz (The Prism), or rhodonite (Anahata). Get 10% off with my code GWEN10. Please note that Chakrubs come in 3 sizes: Original, Slim, and Generous.
Emily Balivet paintings, created for The Love Witch movie: as someone who received these paintings from my best friend as a gift, I can attest to how wonderful of a gift they are. If you really want to go all out, get a baroque gilded frame to go with it!
Venus et Fleur eternity rose: a yearlong reminder of your love for your friend/partner, these real dried roses are a beautiful altarpiece, nightstand decor, or deity offering. You can customize the color of the Parisian hatbox & rose, because you know a love witch needs to maintain their aesthetic 😉 I personally have three of these for my altars, and I’ve gifted them to clients & friends as well.
Supreme Erotic Self Meditation: Purchase a gift card from my shop, and your love witch can redeem it for my beloved Supreme Erotic Self meditation.
Sexuality Bundle: the ultimate in erotic wisdom, my Sexuality class bundle includes classes on Sex Magic, Kink & BDSM as Trauma Healing, and Shadow Work. Purchase your witch a gift card from my shop to redeem.
All Witches
What do you get the witch who has everything?
They don’t need another crystal or altar cloth. An experience lasts a lifetime, and won’t take up space or need regifting.
All of my tarot readings are recorded and personalized, so your witchy loved one can ask any questions they want, and look back on the reading whenever they need a reminder. This is truly the gift that keeps on giving, and as each reading is unique to each individual, it’s a gift that can never be replicated (so no worries about potentially giving them the same candle their other friend got them!)
A live tarot reading from me: all readings are virtual, so time & place don’t matter, and it’s an instant gift, so no need to worry about it shipping in time. I’m holding a Black Friday buy-one-get-one exclusive on readings, November 24-28. Just purchase a gift card, and I’ll reach out to you to book your free 10-minute reading.
A gift card to my shop: with a gift card to my shop, your recipient can get a forever reading (prerecorded so they can watch it self-paced), a single class, or a bundle.
I hope this gift guide has served you well in your holiday shopping. I believe that gift-giving is a beautiful love language, and an opportunity to show our loved ones how well we know them, love them, and care about them.
If you purchased something from the gift guide or otherwise found it helpful, feel free to DM/email me and let me know! I’d love to hear what you think of it.
I hope this holiday season is filled with love, happiness, and peace for you and all your loved ones. Happy holidays!
